Easter, part 2

On Easter, after spending the morning at church, Trev, Britta, her dogs Dakota and Kirby, and I all drove to their aunt and uncle Judy & Bill’s in Brooklyn Park for an afternoon of food and egg games. Here are my fave photos from the afternoon:

He got up!

It’s been chaotic around here, and besides that, we’ve been outside a lot enjoying this nice weather. I thought I should probably stop by and share some photos with you! I’ll save all my birthday related ones for a later post. I got back home a little bit ago from the rehearsal for Sanctuary’s Easter service. I’ve got a tired voice, but I’m excited for tomorrow! It’s going to be great with all the singing, dancing (including break dancing), the band, the lights, everything!

The other day we went for a walk around Lake Calhoun. We brought Cash with us. He barked at every rollerblader and every dog! It was so embarassing….what do you do?

Trev’s cousin Britta, her boyfriend Justin, and her two dogs Kirby and Dakota are here for the weekend for the Twins exhibition games. Justin is also known as “Twins Suit Guy.” He was on Twins Cities Live yesterday afternoon, as well as Fox News at 5:00. They are at today’s game too.

The dogs hung out with us after they left. At first they were sad their mama left them:

Later on they went in their kennel for an afternoon nap:

They are the cutest little dogs! Trevor and Adam went golfing this morning and are now back watching golf on tv and hanging out with the dogs. Not sure what we’re doing with the rest of the day. I’d like to relax a bit with tomorrow being a busy day. I’ve got to be at church at 7:30AM to sing with the choir. We warm up and are running through the service before the 9:00 service starts, and then singing at the 9:00 and 11:00. Then Trev, Britta, and I are heading to Bill & Judy’s (their aunt and uncle) for Easter dinner with a random mix of Tungseths. It should be a nice day!

‘Tis the Season

It’s December and there’s a tiny bit of snow on the ground. This week is flying by after the busy fun weekend away for Thanksgiving with the Tungseths.

Here we all were on Thanksgiving Day at the lake cabin:

It was the usual celebration of food, football, games, etc. and the usual weekend of making lefse, watching a movie, eating lots of food…but Trevor broke his hand playing football! He can’t use his right hand for five weeks. It is really frustrating for him, but at least he doesn’t have to have surgery.

Here are a couple photos from a bunch of us going to cut down Christmas trees on Saturday:

This week I’ve had appointments and errands and cleaning and job searching to do. I also made this wreath for the front door:

I saw this idea here and made my own version using supplies from the dollar store and what I had at home, besides some brads I found on clearance at Michaels. I also didn’t cut the flowers out from hand like the tutorial, but instead used my Cricut to cut them out for me. ๐Ÿ™‚

We still need to get out the Christmas tree and decorations! Trevor won’t be too much help with his broken hand and all, but I am hoping he can help me a little bit, so I am waiting for him to be around. We’ve had a busy week! Hopefully we will decorate the house this weekend!

Let Everything that Hath Breath Praise the Lord

I just got home from choir practice so I’m in a good mood. Have I mentioned how much I love singing in the church gospel choir? I just have to mention it again.

We had a good weekend here this weekend. I got to spend time with my best friend Betsy and chat with my fave cousin Jen. I finally finished the scrapbook of my brother Eric’s wedding to his beautiful bride Brittany also! Yesterday was spent at church, a bit at home, and then the church annual meeting. Does your church have a DJ and red velvet cake at their annual meeting? ๐Ÿ˜‰

It is Thanksgiving week so I’ve got my big to-do-list of what has to happen before we leave our house Wednesday evening for Fergus Falls. There is cleaning, laundry, packing, shopping, and some chex mix to be made! We’ll be spending Thanksgiving Day with 40+ Tungseths at the lake cabin. We’ll be making lefse and Christmas cookies on Friday, and going Christmas Tree cutting on Saturday! Lots of photo ops. ๐Ÿ˜‰ No tree for us on Saturday though. We will stick with our artificial tree for another year. We have old wood floors and a male dog, so I don’t think we need to see what kind of disaster a real tree would be, although I would love to have our house filled with the smell of pine!

Today I spent some time organizing photos and putting them in albums. Between all the different online photo sales in the past couple months I was able to only pay the price of shipping for the photos from the past year and a half! I only have one scrap page done of 2008, but at least it’s started! I’ll get back to scrapping that, but also still need to figure out my plan for Christmas cards…

Here are some of my fave pages from the scrapbook I made of Eric & Brittany’s Wedding. You can see the whole album here.

The photographer

I find it absolutely hilarious that Trevor’s cousins couldn’t remember where Thanksgiving was last year because I wasn’t there, and I am pretty much the only one who takes photos!

From Facebook (Edited to shorten this extremely long thread):

Todd Tungseth I can’t remember where Thanksgiving was held last year I say at the lake and Jess says at my parents does anyone remember?

I hate when Karin isn’t there. I don’t think I was there either, but I do remember that my parents came to our place to eat and then ditched early so they could go to your parents. I didn’t want to try it 7 months pregnant with 4 small kids. So I’m thinking Jess is right….are you really that suprised?!?!?

I love that no one remembers where it was last year because I was not there to document it! Ha! Well, no need to fear for this year. This year Thanksgiving will be forever remembered in photos. See ya there!

Thoughts on my brother’s wedding weekend

On Thursday we headed to Chippewa Falls, WI. I practiced the songs I would be singing with the pianist and then at 5:00 was the wedding rehearsal, with the rehearsal dinner following. Friday Trev and I ate lunch with a bunch of my Pedersen relatives (who were there from Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, & Wisconsin) and then the wedding was at 4:00. Photos followed, and then a great dinner and fun dance! What an awesome couple of days!

A few thoughts on those days:

*My dad was the wedding officiant. I love that he is a preacher AND a poet. The two go so well together. What a beautiful wedding message!

*I have really fun brothers who love to laugh, smile, and dance. They both look great in a suit/tux. ๐Ÿ™‚

*My brother Eric can dance like Michael Jackson? And swing dance? Had no idea.

*My relatives are hilarious. I have really great family.

*It was an honor to sing at my brother’s wedding! I am happy that I made it through both songs without tears.

*I am so thankful that my aunts and uncles came to the wedding, and that all my dad’s siblings are still around and laughing.

*The most fun times I’ve had dancing at weddings are with my cousins (like at Jen’s wedding and this one too)!

*I will never forget Trevor running on to the empty dance floor and dancing like a mad man to Brittney Spears’ “Oops I Did it Again” all by himself…and then Eric and Amy later joining him and dancing their hearts out. I have such a wonderful, fun, and loving husband!

*I can’t belive my baby brother is married! I am so happy for him and his bride. They are such a perfect match/team, and they look so good together too! I was happy for them and their beautiful wedding and wonderful friends. The matron of honor and best man gave such beautiful speeches unlike any I had heard at other weddings. Eric & Brittany really are a special couple and will touch so many people as they continue on in their life and ministry together!

movies and pictures

It is raining out right now and that makes me happy! It also makes my garden very happy. ๐Ÿ™‚

This week has gone by quickly. I dogsat Jaxon the shih tzu again yesterday, and then after work Jen came and we ordered Sarpino’s and watched a Rwandan movie called Munyurangabo. For my birthday Jen got me a 3-month subscription to Film Movement, and this was one of the movies I received. The tagline is “An orphan of the Rwandan genocide travels from Kigali to the countryside on a quest for justice.” It won a few festival awards, so Jen had heard of it and had wanted to see it. It was a good movie, but a lot slower than I had expected. It was too slow in my opinion. We watched the short film of the month afterwards, a German film called AlpTraum. It was only 3 minutes long, and very cute/funny. Trevor heard us laughing from the other room.

I am off to run errands now. Tonight we are going to a friend’s wedding rehearsal (Trevor is ushering) and to the wedding tomorrow! It should be lovely.

I finally got the chance to edit the photos I took at Brittany’s shower last weekend, so here are a couple of my faves. It was a lovely time!

Have a great weekend!
