The past few years Trevor and I have been watching the Academy Awards. The past 3 or 4 we tried to see as many Oscar nominated films as possible before the Oscars aired. Last year they upped the Best Picture nominees to 10, and we still managed to see all of them in time! The 2009 Oscars we actually went to a theater and saw 2 movies (Frost/Nixon and Milk) in a row the Friday night before to be able to have seen all the nominees. This year I’m not sure that we will actually get around to seeing as many of them, which bums me out. Trevor doesn’t seem as interested in seeing them all before the Oscars.
Last week’s Entertainment Weekly (which I get free via mycokerewards points) has a list of 25 Movies You Need to See Before Oscar Night. I’ve only seen 7 of them!
