What’s up.

The weather has been mostly nice lately, although we did have some rain this past weekend. It’s been so great to be outside and to be walking the dog and seeing what plants are growing and blooming around the neighborhood! What we’ve been up to is enjoying our time together and enjoying time to ourselves! Trev’s been going on bike rides and playing video games. I’ve been scrapbooking and couponing and dreaming about my summer gardening.

We’ve also been making the change over to mostly whole foods, organic foods, etc. We’ve been eating organic meat for several months as well as buying as much organic dairy products as possible. Now that Trevor read “Fast Food Nation” as well as “In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto,” and we watched Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution and bought a couple of his cookbooks, we’ve been buying a lot more organic fruits and vegetables and other food items. Fortunately we are able to buy some of these at our Cub Foods that has a pretty big selection, but we also buy organic items at Costco, Trader Joe’s, and Whole Foods. We buy most of our organic meat at Costco, and are also big fans of Trader Joe’s. Anyway, it’s been a big change and more of an effort to find new recipes and try new things. It’s fun sometimes and work other times! We’ve been eating more salads, and continue to try more vegetarian meals. It’s all better for us, beyond all the ethics.

Trevor had two job interviews last week, I haven’t been very good at keeping the house clean for the past week, I’ve been trying to catch up on all the shows I have recorded on Tivo, and we’ve been talking about a pre-job start date road trip. We are going to Sheboygan to be with my family for Mother’s Day (haven’t been there for that in like 4 years).  I continue to grow closer to my oldest dearest friends but haven’t tried to keep up with everyone as much as I once had. I’m excited for the summer and camping trips and more changes. We keep learning and dreaming and things keep on changing and life is overall very good.
